Official event for the 100th anniversary of Gaudi's death: NAKED meets Gaudi exhibition
This is the official exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of Gaudí's death and the historic completion of the Sagrada Familia's "Tower of Jesus." Architect Gaudí learned from nature, transformed his discoveries into physical forms, and entrusted hope to future generations. A journey begins here, where you can experience his inspiration and philosophy through NAKED's immersive, experiential direction.

Marihiko Hara Trio Concert at VS.
A one-night special concert by Marihiko Hara, the composer of the score and the main theme for the film "KOKUHO" will be held at VS. Violinist Anzu Suhara and cellist/viola da gamba player Tomoki Tai—Hara's co-composers on the film score will join for an special concert of piano, strings, and immersive sound. S-seat guests are invited to an exclusive post-concert talk and autograph session. Experience this unique collaboration through VS.'s high-definition acoustic environment.

Nippachi Festival
Under the theme “RAW, REAL, RHYTHM,” Nippachi Festival is a unique celebration where audiovisual art, live performances, and DJ sets intersect. More than just watching, it delivers an experience that sparks the desire to express yourself, awakening the sense of wonder and creative impulse you once felt as a child.In addition to performances by leading artists, the festival offers workshops and talk sessions that reveal the background and creative process behind the works. VS. Genshun Yamanouchi "Omniazimuth"

Genshun Yamanouchi, majoring in lacquerwork at Kyoto City University of Arts, creates unique musical instruments from scratch, handling everything from milling the wood to applying the lacquer. He also leads an ensemble in live performances to explore new sounds. This event centers on a live orchestra using his instruments, as multiple artists engage with his work to create a mystical world of music.

In 2025, as the World Expo returns to Osaka, we ask:might we pass on the inspiration that once stirred the young Sakamoto—to a new generation of creators—through the platform of sakamotocommon? With this in mind, we begin our project from “VS.,” a newly opened space in Umeda, Osaka.The exhibition will feature the Baschetsound sculptures originally shown at Expo ’70, along with newly created instruments crafted by the BaschetRestoration Team at Tokyo University of the Arts and Marti Ruiz —made especially for Sakamoto. In addition, using performance data from Sakamoto himself, audiences will be able to experience his beloved grand piano playing once more—offering a quiet echo of the hands that once shaped its sound.

“Taiwan Spectrum” is a sensory journey through geography, history, culture, and contemporary art. Through the evolution of Taiwanese visual art, the exhibition reflects a vivid microcosm of cultural fusion, creativity, and renewal. We’re excited to announce renowned art director Yuni Yoshida’s first solo exhibition in Osaka, presented at "VS." in Grand Green Osaka. Known for her celebrated work with prominent artists and brands, Yoshida will debut PLAYING CARDS, previously showcased to acclaim in Seoul and Harajuku. This striking collection presents all 54 playing cards through photography. Alongside her sold-out art book and popular items, exclusive new merchandise will be available. A special collaboration with artist Daito Manabe also brings a fresh take on PLAYING CARDS for a unique viewing experience.

Daito Manabe New Installation
Daito Manabe's new work "Continuum Resonance" is an installation where autonomous artworks installed in each space of "VS." interact with each other by sharing mathematical algorithms, music programming, and 3D architectural data. In this exhibition, Manabe collaborates with Sinan Bokezoy (artist/composer) to develop the groundbreaking 3D acoustic software "PolyNodes," creating an audiovisual resonance space where the space itself fluctuates three-dimensionally.

Genshun Yamanouchi
In the spring of 2025, VS. received a message. The sender was Genshun Yamanouchi. A graduate student at Kyoto City University of Arts, he creates and performs on Urushi（Japanese lacquer）instrument crafting, music composition, performance, production...The multi-talented young artist, Genshun Yamanouchi instruments, expressing a strong desire for an opportunity to exhibit and perform at VS. Further conversation revealed the extraordinary freshness and richness of their activities, the polish of their work, and above all, the immense passion bubbling forth. Recognizing this rare young talent, it was decided to hold a VS. presents concert on December 7th. We spoke with Mr. Yamanouchi just before the performance. This marks a first step toward a new stage, not only for Mr. Yamanouchi himself, but also for VS., which serves as a “cultural apparatus” for generating creativity.

Cafe LOHE - Kie Mori
“LOHE”, the cafe on the ground floor of VS. Since opening, its “¥10,000 cup of coffee” has consistently grabbed media attention. Distinct from traditional cafes where people drop in for “a quick cup of coffee,” its stance of introducing the world to new ways of enjoying coffee aligns perfectly with VS.'s role as a cultural apparatus. We spoke with barista Kie Mori, who takes charge of everything from the shop's launch to daily flavor adjustments, to unravel the story behind the “¥10,000” price tag.

WeTAIWAN - LIN Kun-Ying
From 2 to 20 August 2025, the project “We TAIWAN” unfolded in Osaka, showcasing Taiwan's latest culture, art, and technology from diverse perspectives. Here at VS., an exhibition titled “Taiwan Spectrum” explored Taiwan's nature, history, culture, and contemporary art through the lens of “color”. The curation was led by LIN Kun-Ying (林昆穎), an artist and creative director known for his work with the art unit “Luxury Logico.” We spoke with him about his aims for the project and the current state of Taiwan's art scene.

Sato Hiroyasu
One of the key elements that characterizes VS. is its sound system that is integrated into the large space. From speaker selection to system creation, the project was led by Mr. Hiroyasu Sato, the representative director of EASTERN SOUND FACTORY Co.,Ltd., a company that imports, manufactures and sells audio equipment. Since 2007, he has been highly acclaimed for his works with the late Mr. Ryuichi Sakamoto, and his aim in acoustic design of VS. was to achieve one ideal that he had inherited from Mr. Sakamoto.
